SUNDAY 27 April 2025, 11am

Our guide, Elizabeth Love will take us for a Sunday morning stroll highlighting the history of the Glenferrie precinct in the heart of Hawthorn. This walk traces the amazing transformation of the area from the wooded rural retreat of the 1860s through to the bustling metropolis that we see today. Along the way we will see many of the area’s impressive heritage buildings and iconic locations and be entertained and surprised by the local stories. Starting at Central Gardens, formerly the site of early brickpits, we will conclude at the Michael Tuck Stand at Glenferrie Oval, the old stamping ground of the Hawthorn Football Club.
